part two of my report on our trip to Vienna, 9th – 12th Feb.

Wednesday, 11th Feb.
Wednesday was shopping day and therefore we decided to drive to the SCS, which is the biggest shopping center of the country. The day started with rain – changing into snow soon – when we drove down to Vösendorf. To take it short, we stayed in the SCS the whole day .. running around like mad, visiting many shops .. looking for cloths and other stuff and having some delicious meal at a mexican/spanish restaurant where we ate some „monster tortillas“, that filled our stomachs. (the menu of Casa Pueblo >> link). We went home around 5.15PM and parked our car some minutes past 6PM in Werner’s street again. When we came close, I was called on my mobile – Werner asked for our appointment we talked about on Tuesday. We wanted to visit the Montesino with him and some other friends. So we fixed to meet around 8.30 to 9PM. Daniel, Bianca and I took the underground to Gasometer and entered the card room approx. at 9PM. Werner already stood at the bar, having some drink and there was a tournament in play too. We watched that one and some five cash tables that were open and offered a lot of action. To hold it short again, Werner and I joined the cash game at one table, but both weren’t very lucky that evening – so no big win for us and a good cause to leave the place before midnight. Down to the subway again, riding home and have some cacao at our flat. By the way, the whole “bath” was situated in the kitchen, so we had the shower etc. next to the fridge and cooking area
.. we found that very funny, cause it was something new to us, but no problem.
We had a lot of talk about several things fort he next two hours so it was around 2AM when we switched of light. To be honest, that day wasn’t perfect – the shopping mall was not my thing – I like Maria Hilfer Street much more and SCS isn’t so interesting at all.
Thursday, 12th Feb.
This time we slept a bit longer and started our trip to the city center around 10.30AM. I decided to take some more photos this day, as we all missed the days before.
how to look *great* in the morning
Bianca already looking better than us
So first of all, when we smelled fresh air leaving the subway station at the MQ (Museumsquartier), we did some shooting in front of posters and walls – just some crazy posing and having fun

We then walked up the whole Maria Hilfer Street and entered a lot of shops. I don’t remember how many stores we were in and how much clothes we tried on or looked for other stuff – but I think it were more than 20 or 30. In the end we got a lot of cool stuff like some shirts, jeans, card games, mugs, accessories etc. – we were pleased with it. At 4PM we went into KFC on the upper end of the street, was the first time for all of us to eat there. Had some quick lunch and then walked back to MQ. On our way, some shopping again – another stop at Starbucks to have a coffee and cookies. Took the underground back to our crib.

We packed our bags, brought everything into an order and prepared our meal for the evening. Daniel and I jumped into the subway once again and went to our car. Thanks to terrible viennese evening traffic in the city center, it lasted about an hour to come back to the flat by car again. We parked it, got our luggage in and in the meantime Bianca already started cooking.
Quickly made it ready, enjoyed the meal, relaxed some minutes and then left the place and entered the car for our way home, which was approx. 8.30PM. Navigation system helped once again – made us find a good way out of the city – and so we got to the highway.
We arrived in Klagenfurt at 0.10AM and I after some hugs and a short good bye ceremony with Daniel and Bianca, I took my bags and entered my flat. I quickly unpacked most of my things and then went to bed to have some sleep. So this was Vienna, February 2009.
Last but not least …
Song of the week: Guru Josh Project – Infinity 2008
(thanks to Krone Hitradio who played it some hundred times when we were in the car)
Drink & meal of the week: elder soda & italian pasta
Highlights of the week: The Producers in the Ronacher, finding a 30D and Thursday which was the best shopping day.
Disappointment of the week: Not taking so many photos on the first three days and most time only having the little Lumix with us – using the 30D and 350D mostly inside – therefore not so much stuff to show, just documentary pieces
